Privacy policy

This policy explains how we process your personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR and Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).

1. Data controller

2. Data processor

Erman Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (no. 15242709), runs this website and the WhatsApp number and email inbox you use to contact us, on behalf of Selinci. It acts only on our instructions, under a data processing agreement.

3. Data we process

The form on this website does not store anything: it prepares a message that you send yourself by WhatsApp or email. We then receive only what you choose to share with us:

• your name, phone number or email address;
• your photo and the photo of the dress that inspires you;
• your wedding date, country and wishes;
• if you place an order: your delivery address, your measurements and the payment details we need.

For boutiques: the boutique’s name and the business contact details of the person writing to us.

Audience measurement: anonymous visit statistics (pages viewed, country, device, referring site) and, only if you accept cookies, Google Analytics data (see section 11).

We do not use your photos to identify you (no facial recognition) and we make no automated decisions about you.

4. Purposes and legal bases

• Creating the preview of your dress from your photos: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
• Sending you a quote and answering your questions: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
• Fulfilling your order (making, delivery, after-sales care): performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
• Meeting our accounting and tax obligations: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
• Corresponding with boutiques: our legitimate interest in developing business relationships (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Measuring visits with Google Analytics: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.
• Anonymous, cookie-free visit statistics (Cloudflare Web Analytics): our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Publishing your bridal photos or review on our website or social media: only with your separate written consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

5. Who receives your data

Only the Selinci atelier and Erman Limited can access your data, for the purposes above. We use the following service providers:

• WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) for messaging;
• Hostinger for website and email hosting;
• Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics), only if you accept cookies;
• Cloudflare, Inc. for cookie-free visit statistics;
• an image-editing service used to create your preview, set up so that it does not keep or reuse your photos;
• the carrier chosen to deliver your order.

We never sell or rent your data, and we never publish your photos without your separate written agreement.

6. Transfers outside the European Union

The Selinci atelier is based in Turkey: when you contact us, you send your data directly to us there. Erman Limited processes it on our behalf in the United Kingdom, which benefits from an adequacy decision of the European Commission, under a data processing agreement. Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States; both are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

7. How long we keep your data

• Without an order: your photos and details are deleted within 30 days of our last exchange, or sooner on request.
• With an order: your photos, measurements and design details are kept until your dress is delivered, then for 6 months for after-sales care, before being deleted.
• Billing data: kept for the period required by our accounting and tax obligations.
• Photos and reviews published with your consent: until you withdraw your consent.

8. Security

Access to your data is limited to the people who need it. Photos are never published without your written consent and are deleted from phones, messaging apps and their backups within the periods above.

9. Your rights

You can at any time ask to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format, object to its processing or withdraw your consent, without affecting processing already carried out. Write to hello@selinci.com: we reply within one month.

You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country: in the UK the ICO (ico.org.uk), in France the CNIL, in Belgium the Data Protection Authority, in the Netherlands the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

10. Turkish law (KVKK)

As Selinci is established in Turkey, Law No. 6698 also applies. Among other things, it gives you the right to know whether your data is processed, for what purpose and by whom, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to object to processing (Article 11). You can send these requests to the same address.

11. Cookies and audience measurement

Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) are placed only if you click “Accept all” in the banner. They measure visits and are kept for up to 13 months. If you click “Reject all”, no cookie is placed. Your choice is remembered in your browser for 6 months; you can change it at any time through the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of each page.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without identifying you. Our hosting provider keeps technical logs (IP address, date, page visited) to keep the service secure.
